About

Composer, sound artist, researcher and educator working where musical practice meets computational systems.

Biography

Shai Cohen is a composer, sound artist and music-technology researcher. His research-creation practice brings together experimental and electroacoustic composition, computational sound analysis and resynthesis, digital signal processing, artificial intelligence, interactive systems, spatial audio and new media.

In his work, technology functions not merely as a production tool but as compositional material and as a generative structure that shapes the creative process itself. His research also extends to musical creativity, music and mathematics, performance research, social and physiological synchrony, and data-driven approaches to musical analysis and creation.

At Bar-Ilan University he teaches composition and computational music and supervises graduate research across music, technology and interdisciplinary fields.
